  • HISTORICAL FOOTNOTES - Model year 1993 marks the 40th anniversary of the Corvette. To commemorate that fact, Chevrolet had a 40th anniversary model. It was available only with a ruby red exterior and interior. There were 40th anniversary emblems on the hood, deck and fenders. There were also color keyed wheel centers and special headrest embroidery. 6,479 cars came equipped with the option. Only 448 ZR1's were built this year and only 5,330 Corvettes came with the 6 speed manual transmission. Horsepower and torque figures were up for the ZR1 to 405 horsepower and 385 ft-lbs respectively.
